Interim arrangements during Covid Pandemic
Normal training arrangements are suspended during the Covid Pandemic.
We are holding interim training in line with Goverment and England Netball advice.
From 12th April 2021 Under-18s are allowed to take part in indoor netball events. WE continue training at Bishop Challenor School Sports Hall, Institute Road, Kings Heath, Birmingham, B14 7EG from 17th May.
The sessions are:
Mondays 5:30pm to 6:35pm Years 3 to 5
As before, prior membership of England Netball and completion of a Covid Opt-in form are necessary.
Turn up 5 minutes before the time stated for registration, temperature checks and hand sanitisation.
New players may be accommodated with sufficient notice, by arrangement.
When Restrictions are lifted our training venue will be:
Sports Hall, University of Birmingham School, Weoley Park Road, Selly Oak, Birmingham B29 6QU.
An announcement will be made when the Sports Hall is available. At present it is unuse as an auxiliary dining hall to promote social distancing during the Covid Pandemic.
Normal training is
during term time only. We may announce additional training during half
terms and in the Summer Holidays.
Your training session depends on your school Year and experience.
Players may sometimes be asked or allowed to train with a different group on the grounds of experience and ability.
Juniors (Up to Year 6) train on Mondays
Beginners: 5:30pm to 6:30pm (all players up to
Year 6 should come to this session on their first visit)
Beginners training includes warm-up / fitness training, followed by coaching in basic netball skill and rules of the game. Simple practice games are held at the end.
The Follow-On Session includes warmup / fitness training, coaching in more advanced netball skills, followed by practice games.
Seniors (Years 7 and above) train on Fridays
Years 7 and 8: 5:30pm to 7:30pm
For Seniors, a typical Club training session would be roughly 30 minutes fitness and stamina, 30 minutes netball skills, and up to 60 minutes practice games.
Players are expected to undertake activities to maintain their fitness and stamina outside of Club training sessions.
